Tennis: Alejandro Tabilo Stuns Djokovic in Rome Masters
Underdog Alejandro Tabilo claimed the biggest win of his career in the third round of the Italian Open, defeating world number one Novak Djokovic 6-2 6-3. This is the first time since 2004 that Djokovic will not be in the Italian Open quarter-finals.
It took 29th seed Alejandro Tabilo just 67 minutes to achieve what other tennis players have unsuccessfully tried to do on countless occasions: beat Novak Djokovic.
Tabilo, from Chile, played aggressively and did not allow Djokovic to settle into a rhythm. He broke Djokovic's serve four times and won 71% of his first-serve points.
The upset is one of the most surprising setbacks of Djokovic's Rome career. He has won the Italian Open six times, including the last two years.
