Pierre Marcel Poilievre, PC, MP (born June 3, 1979) is a Canadian politician who has served as the leader of the Conservative Party of Canada and the Leader of the Official Opposition since 2022.
Poilievre was born June 3, 1979, to a teenage unwed mother. He was adopted by French Canadian parents and raised in Calgary, Alberta.
Political Ascendancy
Poilievre was first elected to Parliament in 2004 and has held several Cabinet positions, including Minister of State for Democratic Reform and Minister of Employment and Social Development.
In 2022, Poilievre was elected leader of the Conservative Party of Canada, becoming the youngest leader of a federal political party in Canada.
