Alexander Zverev Storms into Second Round at Paris Olympics
Defeats Munar in Straight Sets
Aces and Backhands Earn Zverev Victory
Alexander Zverev, the reigning Olympic tennis champion, has booked his place in the second round of the Paris 2024 Games with a convincing victory over Jaume Munar in straight sets.
Zverev, who won gold in Tokyo three years ago, was in dominant form from the outset, firing down 12 aces and winning 75% of his first-serve points.
"It was a good start to the tournament," said Zverev. "I felt comfortable on court and played aggressively. I'm looking forward to the next round."
Zverev will face either Jannik Sinner or Karen Khachanov in the next round.
